‘No one is taking responsibility’: Inner West Mayor calls for light rail drama to be fixed
The light rail saga continues after services on the inner west light rail were suspended in late October after cracks were discovered in the Spanish-built trams.
The light rail suspension caused replacement buses to be in place instead.
Now there are reports that the buses have not turned up, are late and have broken down.
With trams breaking down and leaving people high and dry, it was expected the buses would be able to help the predicament.
Inner West Mayor Darcy Bryne has told Joe Hildebrand, “This is very predictable”.
“The whole situation is chaotic and a debacle.”
Mr Byrne believes the current rail issues has no end in sight stating: “I don’t think the government can say with certainty that it can be fixed this year”.
