Australian Actor Shane Jacobson will be staring in the Broadway production ‘Hairspray’. 

The show is set to open in August 2022 in Melbourne at the Regent Theatre.

Shane will star as beloved housewife Edna Turnblad, a role which he has dreamed of performing for quite a long time.

Mr Jacobson told Deborah Knight, “For me, it’s my happy place”.

He said for the role there is: “No pressure greater than having to step up in the shoes filled by John Travolta”.
