Defence Minister Peter Dutton believes the alliance between China and Russia is a “deep” concern to Australia.

“This unholy alliance between the Chinese government and the Russian government should cause, I think, great concern… deep concern,” he told Ray Hadley.

Minister Dutton says the issue in the Indo-Pacific is also something to keep an eye on: “If we just remain silent on it and pretend that it’s not happening … that it will go away, well we will find ourselves in conflict at some point in the future.”

“That’s the last thing we want.

“China is on a different path.”
