Another 170 ADF troops to land in Lismore as flood crisis continues
Regional NSW will welcome more Australian Defence Force troops today as the flooding crisis continues.
Around 170 troops will roll into Lismore and surrounding regions today to lend a hand with rescue and recovery efforts.
Defence Minister Peter Dutton told Ray Hadley they will “do whatever is required”.
“It’s a huge area to cover and it’s been a rolling problem,” he said. “And now we’ve got re-flooding in some areas.”
“It’s a moving situation but the priority of the ADF has been to rescue people.
“They’ve rescued about 103 people off of rooftops and within communities.”
