Dr Kerryn Phelps is recommending people wear masks and avoid crowds while case numbers rise.

The spread of Omicron BA.2 has NSW Health recommending a return to restrictions amid concerns of rising cases.

Dr Phelps told Ben Fordham while she isn’t advocating lockdowns, other measures would be wise.

“I think it’s really important to consider that there a medically vulnerable people in the community … and they can’t get out and about.

“There’s this crazy notion out there that the pandemic’s over … the pandemic is not over!”
