‘Salaries out of this world’: Council pay packets under fire as rates rise

“Our local councils have some explaining to do,” Ben Fordham told his Breakfast listeners.
According to the NSW Government, the average annual rate in Blacktown is $1,039.
But some listeners pay up to $2000.
The Blacktown Council CEO is one local council member earning more than the NSW Premier – with a salary of about $500,000.
“And they’re not the only council with bloated pay packets…”
