The federal government has defended its response to the aged care royal commission.

The Labor leader’s budget reply focused on aged care while certain recommendations remain unfulfilled.

Energy Minister Angus Taylor has defended the government’s response to the recommendations, insisting they are implementing them in a staged way.

“I’m fond of Angus, but his audaciousness is unbelievable,” Labor MP Joel Fitzgibbon hit back.
