Protesters defy penalty crackdown, block Brighton-Le-Sands street
Blockade Australia protesters blocking a Brighton-Le-Sands street have been removed by police.
It comes after NSW Parliament passed laws of up to two years’ jail and fines of up to $22,000 for those blocking major facilities including ports and railways.
Listener Ian told Ben Fordham they were blocking three lanes of The Grand Parade.
“I’ve been here for 20 minutes, nothing’s moving.”
