Aussie teens are heading to Texas for an international robotics competition.

A team of 28 students from Barker College will leave Sydney’s north shore for Houston to compete at the world robotics championship.

They have successfully built from scratch a fully customised working robot.

Barker Redbacks co-captain Suzie Brian told Luke Grant the robot can shoot balls with perfect precision into targets, while moving at a rapid speed.

“It’s between 90 and 95 per cent accurate.”
