25 million residents have been locked inside their homes for over a month in China and an Aussie is unable to get back on a plane to Australia.

In what’s described as the most severe lockdown ever experienced in the world, locks and chains have been bolted onto front doors, everybody who tests positive is being taken to quarantine stations, and babies are being separated from their parents.

Chris Leyland is stuck inĀ  Yangzhou which is about 300-kilometres North of Shanghai and told Jim Wilson he can’t come home due to the travel restrictions.

“They don’t mess around.”

“Next week I don’t have a work permit, or a residents permit.”
