COVID-19 causes ferry chaos on first fare-free weekend
The Transport Minister denies the city’s network is failing to cope with huge demand over the long weekend.
It is expected to be another busy day across the ferry network, as people make the most of fare-free travel.
More than 65,000 passengers took advantage of trips on Easter Sunday.
But multiple ferry services were cancelled over the weekend due to staff shortages with a Circular Quay to Parramatta service already cancelled this morning.
Minister David Elliott told Ben Fordham staff shortages due to COVID-19 is the “new normal for the time being”.
