Whale watching season has kicked off in NSW.

From May to November every year, more than 30,000 whales travel up and down the NSW coast, dubbed ‘The Humpback Highway’.

A pair of killer whales have already been spotted swimming along the Sapphire Coastline, just metres from the shore.

Whale expert Dr Vanessa Pirotta told Ben Fordham humpback whales will be more common.
