The ‘nonsense’ bill causing dramas at Sydney Football Stadium before it’s even open
A bill passed by the NSW government has created quite a conundrum for fans ahead of the opening of the Sydney Football Stadium.
More than 2600 occasional parking spots on the grass outside the Sydney Cricket Ground will be swept away by 2025 under the bill.
While an underground carpark is planned to replace 1500 of the parking spaces, construction plans have been delayed.
NSW Labor Leader Chris Minns told Ray Hadley it’s “unrealistic” to expect fans from western Sydney to find another way to get across the city.
Chris Minns: “It’s their tax dollars; they have paid for it as well, Ray.
“It’s not the exclusive domain of those that live in the eastern suburbs.”
Ray Hadley: “It appears that they want us to all ride bikes to the Sydney Football Stadium from Werrington or Penrith!”
Chris Minns: “Get on your bike from Blacktown and motor all the way to Moore Park!”
