Special Minister of State Ben Morton is signing off a change to the regulation to allow COVID-positive people from last Friday onwards to use the telephone service.

As soon as the rule comes into effect, this is how you can vote:

  1. COVID-positive voters can register to telephone vote on the AEC.gov.au.
  2. You’ll be provided with a telephone voting code.
  3. You can cast your vote by calling: 1800 413 960

Australian Electoral Commissioner Tom Rogers told Ray Hadley that reading the whole Senate ballot paper for people on the phone is not plausible.

“Can we please not do that, is the plea to the community.

“When you get online, can you be prepared?”
