Ben Fordham is a Walkley award-winning journalist who hosts 2GB’s Breakfast Show.
For more than 4 years, Ben Fordham has dominated breakfast radio. His show repeatedly tops the ratings and is consistently competitive for the #1 spot in Sydney. ‘The Ben Fordham Show’ is also the Nine Network’s most successful podcast in Australia. The switch to the breakfast program took place in June 2020 after Ben spent a decade building his profile as 2GB’s Drivetime host.
Ben’s talents have been recognised at the Australian Commercial Radio Awards, where he was awarded ‘Best Metropolitan Talk Presenter’ seven times (2014, 2015, 2016, 2018, 2019, 2020/21, and 2024). Ben has also been voted ‘Best Current Affairs Presenter’ three times in 2017, 2023 and 2024. In 2024, Ben was awarded ‘Individual Talent of the Year’, which reflects his undeniable passion for radio journalism and his breakfast program.
In 1997, Ben became the youngest reporter in history to win a Walkley-rAWARD double in the same year. He won a Walkley for his coverage of the 1997 Thredbo landslide tragedy and a rAWARD for excellence in journalism.
Ben started working in radio at just 15 at 2UE, where he immediately fell in love with broadcasting. While completing his final years at high school, he worked weekends on the Continuous Call Team hosted by Ray Hadley.
Ben became a cadet reporter at 2UE in 1995 and at age 20, he was appointed as a political correspondent based at Parliament House in Canberra. In 1998, he spent a year at Sky News as a reporter and newsreader before being headhunted by Channel 9 a year later. Since 1999, Ben has worked on a range of programs at Nine including The Today Show, A Current Affair, 60 Minutes, and Australian Ninja Warrior.
Ben is married to the former Seven Network journalist Jodie Speers. They have a son Freddy and two daughters, Pearl and Goldie.
