The NSW Treasurer is going to publically shame companies who fail to employ enough women.

The government will begin publishing an annual list of the state’s best and worst companies on gender equality, with Matt Kean saying it will help the economy.

“It’s 2022,” Ben Fordham said, “no company with any commonsense is actively avoiding women but Mr Kean is hell-bent on shaming them if they’re not 50/50.”

Ben has revealed Mr Kean has fallen short of his own goal, with women only making 37 per cent of positions on government boards within his portfolio.

“It’s a case of do as I say, not as I do.”
