Ray Hadley’s continued push for the government to act on bail reforms achieved a breakthrough.

Ray had detailed at least three instances where convicted paedophiles had been granted bail while they await sentencing.

The NSW government’s tough new bail reforms passed NSW Parliament today.

Offenders won’t be granted bail between their conviction and sentencing if they’re likely to be handed a jail term.

NSW Attorney-General Mark Speakman says the laws are among the toughest in the country.

“I’d like to think I represent the majority of the population and common sense bail reforms is part of that.”
