Train strike to end after ‘silly’ negotiation process
NSW Transport Minister David Elliot has labelled the negotiation process with the rail union as “silly” after an agreement has been reached to end this week’s industrial action.
The NSW government has promised $264 million to modify the fleet of imported trains at the centre of the industrial dispute.
“Do I like it? Absolutely not … If it means that we get Sydney back to work then I think unfortunately this is a price that we have to pay,” the minister told Luke Grant.
“There is absolutely no reason now for the union to continue industrial action.”
