Flooding crisis enters another day as concern grows
A natural disaster has been declared in 23 council areas as intense rain continues to lash Sydney.
Suburbs along the Hawkesbury River particularly around Windsor and McGraths Hill are a key focus for emergency services as the flooding crisis enters another day.
Tens of thousands of people have been forced from their homes by the water.
Major flooding is occurring at North Richmond, Windsor, Sackville, and Wiseman’s Ferry and is also possible at Lower Portland.
NSW SES Spokesperson Daniel Osbourne told Chris Smith the further rainfall predicted could see renewed flood rises.
“We need people to stay on top of our orders.”
