Employers and businesses are increasingly turning to third-party recruitment apps to find temporary shift workers as critical staff shortages plague the industry.

The current staff shortage means sought-after workers are able to “try out” different businesses via apps.

Sydney University Associate Professor Angie Knox told Joe Hildebrand that employers need to re-think and make changes when hiring.

“In this particular environment, they can no longer rest on their laurels.”
