The risk of a quick transition to renewables
More questions have been raised today about the effect a rapid transition to renewable energy will have on the reliability of our available power.
Contributing economics editor to The Australian Judith Sloan joined Luke Grant on Drive to raise her concerns.
“The view is that in less than 10 years time it’ll be 80 per cent wind and solar with some storage, now that looks like a bit of a fairytale to me,” she said.
This comes as new calls arise for Australia to look towards nuclear generation to fix the power shortfall.
