The Australian Electoral Commission has made a visit to 2GB.

They are investigating the claims about a listener who discovered a bunch of ballot papers in a hotel room in Port Macquarie.

A Breakfast listener found an envelope that had 12 ballot papers for the seat of Paterson and another paper for Banks.

There was also a bunch of papers which appeared to be photocopied.

AEC officials have now collected these items from 2GB.

An update will be imminent.
