A major renewable energy summit featuring Prime Minister Anthony Albanese begins today.

Chris Smith has revealed former Australian chief scientist Dr Alan Finkel was initially offered to 2GB for an interview.

However when producers attempted to lock in a time, Dr Finkel was mysteriously unavailable.

“Is Alan Finkel scared of a few tough questions?” Chris said.

“Did he realise, he wasn’t going to get the soft touch he receives on the ABC?”

Chris made the point that none of our leaders have been able to properly explain what happens to the grid when the coal-fired power plants shut down and what impact our immediate action will have on global temperatures.

“Make no mistake, we are heading to an energy cliff and it may end up being the greatest political disaster in our history.”
