Listeners might not recognise Karen Jacobsen on the street, but her voice is one of the most well-known in the country. 

Karen is an Aussie-born singer and voiceover artist, best known as the voice of Siri.

She joined Deb Knight on Afternoons to talk about how she got the job and what it’s like being one of the world’s most heard voices.

“I went to the audition and I got the job on the spot,” she said.

“I had to record for 50 hours to capture every combination of syllables possible.”

She also revealed details about being recognised in public and why they chose her voice for the role.
