Jim Wilson implores Pauline Hanson to show ‘common decency’ after Senate ‘stunt’
Jim Wilson has questioned Pauline Hanson’s actions today in the senate and how it could bridge any racial divides.
As Senate President Sue Lines acknowledged the traditional custodians of the Canberra area today during the opening of Wednesday’s sitting, Ms Hanson interjected, yelling “No, I won’t and never will” before marching out.
Greens Senator Lidia Thorpe condemned Ms Hanson’s actions stating: “You want to make parliament safe? Get rid of racism.”
Jim has slammed the “cheap stunt”.
“The Senate is the heart of our democracy and there is nothing wrong with showing some respect to our Indigenous brothers and sisters in that setting.
“Pauline Hanson has chosen to do this on the first sitting day of the new term of Parliament, well it’s been manufactured for maximum impact and quite frankly I think it’s just a cheap stunt.
“There’s a right way to go about things and that’s not woke, it’s called respect and having a bit of common decency.”
