Angus Taylor takes dig at Labor over current energy crisis
The Shadow Treasurer Angus Taylor has taken a swipe at Labor’s response to the energy market.
The Australian Energy Market Operator stated today that the wholesale power cost soared to record highs in the past few months and that Australians should brace for worse to come.
Deborah Knight stated this happened when the former energy minister was in power.
“We knew there were real challenges in the energy market … we didn’t make the $275 electricity price reduction commitment, Labor did,” Mr Taylor said.
“The Prime Minister refused to re-commit to that target, that’s the first broken promise from them.”
Minister for Industry and Science Ed Husic fired back stating there are no broken promises.
“We did not know the Coalition government were sitting on a report that suddenly seemed to appear after the election.”
