Indigenous Voice backflip: Malcolm Turnbull ‘playing politics’
Malcolm Turnbull has backtracked on his opinion on an Indigenous Voice to Parliament.
The former prime minister rejected the notion when he was in office.
At the time, he said an Indigenous Voice to Parliament would have been “contrary to the principles of equality and citizenship”.
But now, Mr Turnbull says the idea should be supported.
“It sounds like politics is still front and centre of Malcolm Turnbull’s thinking,” Ben said.
“That Mr Turnbull just wants to support Anthony Albanese.”
