What could happen next in the race to host the NRL Grand Final
ARL Commission boss Peter V’landys has confirmed negotiations between the state government and ARLC are continuing over who will host the NRL Grand Final.
Last night, Mr V’Landys rubbished a report from Seven News stating that on Monday night the ARLC had reached an agreement with the New South Wales Government for the decider to remain at Sydney’s Accor Stadium.
Nine Radio senior reporter Clinton Maynard told Mark Levy there could be a compromise between the NSW government and the NRL over future stadium upgrades.
“The NSW Government is talking to the NRL, the ARLC, about a whole range of issues connected to stadiums,” he said.
“It may well be that they come up with a compromise of some sort on suburban grounds that has a timeline of where there could be those upgrades.
“That may be now the plan to keep the grand final not just in Sydney this year but longer term.”
