NSW Labor leader calls on end to crippling train strikes
Labor leader Chris Minns is condemning the ongoing train strikes.
After it was revealed Rail Union Secretary Alex Claassens sits on Labor Party’s Administrative Committee, a group responsible for election campaigns, questions have been raised over the union’s motive behind the strikes.
Today, there are no trains running on the T5 Cumberland line between Richmond and Leppington, with a heavily reduced timetable in place on the T1 North Shore and Western, T7 Olympic Park and T9 Northern lines.
Mr Minns has rejected notions Labor is orchestrating the strikes.
“Further strikes are just going to antagonise the public,” he told Ben Fordham
“We don’t think this industrial action should go ahead.
“The Government isn’t going to move any further on the negotiating table.”
