The $1 7-Eleven coffee will be no more.

From October 4, the regular cup of coffee will cost consumers $2, the first price rise of its kind since 2009.

“It is no longer possible to absorb cost increases as we have done for the past decade,” 7-Eleven CEO Angus McKay said in a statement.

Listener Peter had tipped Ben Fordham off to the change on yesterday’s Breakfast show.

“I also know the prices of Slurpees are going up on the same date!”
