The essential role Meals on Wheels plays

John Stanley

In Victoria, Councils ditch Meals on Wheels for weekly frozen food delivery. The move has triggered fears that some residents may be left without regular social contact. In New South Wales and Queensland, Meals on Wheels works differently from Victoria.

John Stanley checks in with Les Macdonald, CEO, of Meals on Wheels NSW, about how they are operating post pandemic and if they have enough volunteers.

They also chat about this reform in Victoria and how it undercuts the whole relationship that the people who deliver these meals on wheels has with the people they serve.
