Anti-racism sign near Anzac memorial slammed as ‘un-Australian’
Local councillors are demanding a new anti-racism sign be removed from near an Anzac Remembrance Wall.
A “RacismNOTWelcome” street sign has been erected outside the Remembrance Park at Lidcombe, which is the site of a historic Anzac Remembrance Cenotaph and statue of a soldier.
Former Mayor Steve Christou told Ben Fordham they’ve been calling for the council to remove the sign for two weeks now.
“It’s absolutely disgraceful and un-Australian.
“It does make it out that Anzacs are racist.”
