A number of Sydney councils will trial new electric vehicle charging solutions.

Ben Fordham was sent footage of an electric vehicle owner charging their car on the street with a long extension cord leading from their property.

Company Intellihub will roll out electric vehicle charging stations on power poles as part of trials taking place in multiple Sydney councils areas including the Northern Beaches and the Inner West.

CEO Wes Ballantine told Ben Fordham the stations could facilitate an eight-hour charge.

“Not everyone will rely on a full charge.

“There’ll be lock configurations and the like … in regard to security.”
