Local truckie forced to shut business after paying $25k per month for fuel
A local truckie has shut his business doors due to absurd tolls and fuel costs.
Owner of ‘A-A Plus Driver Trainer’ Tristan Wernhard is no longer able to operate his business after spending an extra $25,000 per month on petrol compared to the start of the year due to a fleet of six trucks.
Drivers are being urged to shop around, as they fill up petrol tanks before the return of the full fuel excise.
The levy will be restored tomorrow, and will eventually see prices rise 25 cents a litre.
Tristan told Jim it got to a point where he was getting undercut by other companies in the area.
“The transport rates have come up but not quick enough to meet the supply and demand.”
