SES Commissioner warns residents to stay alert amid flood concerns
NSW residents are being urged to remain on flood watch as many spend the night in evacuation centres.
Evacuation orders have been issued for areas along the Hawkesbury, Nepean Rivers and Wagga Wagga.
The water level is continuing to rise at Windsor Bridge – which is expected to close in the coming days.
Flood warnings remain in place for catchments across the state’s north, central and southwest.
NSW SES Commissioner Carlene York told Ben Fordham they’ve performed 12 flood rescues overnight.
“That brings it to a little over 40 for the weekend.”
