It’s an exciting time for Sydney’s film and theater industry.

The fourth movie in Disney’s rebooted ‘Planet of the Apes’ series will be filmed in Sydney, and a new Australian production of the smash-hit musical ‘Wicked’ will open at the Lyric Theatre next year.

NSW Arts Minister Ben Franklin told Deborah Knight the entertainment industry is back open for business after a tough couple of years.

“These announcements send such a strong message about how vibrant and alive the arts and culture is here in Sydney.

“We are really looking forward to an amazing summer of events happening.”
