‘Bloody-Minded approach’: Minister slams rail union for turning off Opal readers
The rail union is expected to proceed with a plan to turn off Opal readers at railway stations.
A final decision will be made at a meeting tomorrow, which is likely to see industrial action taken.
The union backed down on a similar plan last month when the Government threatened to take it to court.
NSW Transport Minister David Elliott told Jim Wilson there are no benefits to the union by denying customers paying fares.
“This is probably one of the most bloody-minded approaches to industrial action I have seen in 20 years.”
