Hackers holding Medibank Private to ransom
Hackers claiming to have stolen data from Medibank Private are threatening to sell customer information unless a ransom is paid.
The group claims it has information about sensitive health conditions and credit card details.
Medibank has not been able to verify the authenticity of the threats, but says it is taking them seriously.
Tech expert Trevor Long told Ben Fordham it would be “ludicrous” to negotiate with hackers.
“There’s absolutely no way that you can trust those people.
“I don’t think they’ll go anywhere near paying the ransom.”
