‘Real worry’: Paul Fletcher investigates lacking business experience in Labor’s ranks
Paul Fletcher says there are too few federal cabinet ministers who have significant experience in the private sector.
The Shadow Minister for Government Services and the Digital Economy has told Ray Hadley it’s a “real worry” that the decision-makers at the top have little experience in the business world.
“There’s 24 people in the Cabinet, and we’ve had a look at what their private sector experience is and, in total, there’s 12 of them who have had either no private sector experience or their total private sector experience is one year or less.”
He said they come from a narrow range of backgrounds.
“There’s very little experience of business, including small business, and frankly far too little experience in the private sector given the critical decisions these people are making.”
