The price of cherries is expected to double
Recent flooding and heavy rain in New South Wales and Victoria will likely increase the cost of cherries this Christmas.
Tom Eastlake, owner of Eastlake’s family farm, speaks to John Stanley about how all the wet weather has heavily affected their crops this season. Tom highlights how he expects the weather will affect supply and drive up to cost of cherries for consumers this summer.
Too much rain can cause the cherries to split and take on water, making them unsuitable to be sold in shops.
