Mayor calls for government to pay for pothole repairs
Councils in flood-affected communities are pleading for the state government to help fix roads which are littered with potholes.
Ongoing floods across New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland have caused landslides, split roads and deep potholes.
Hornsby Mayor Philip Ruddock told Deborah Knight they are keen to get the potholes fixed, but a lack of resources is making it difficult.
“We haven’t had a rate increase in 12 years. We just don’t have enough money in the coffers to pay for this.”
