Ian Connellan, Editor in chief of The Royal Institution of Australia, joins John Stanely to chat about the latest science stories.

This week John discovers how zoo keepers ensure that animals in zoos have the best possible life while kept in captivity.  All Australian states and territories have a regulating body for exhibiting animals.

Ian also explains how as the weather heats up, we usually see an abundance of Christmas beetles flying around however, researchers suspect the beetles’ populations are dropping, based on anecdotal evidence, and loss of their preferred woodland habitat across Australia.
