Albanese Government’s ‘broken promise’ over price pressures

Clinton Maynard

Luke is joined by Senator Jane Hume, Liberal Senator for Victoria / Shadow finance minister & Chair of Select Committee on the Cost of Living, who asserts that Australians are doing it tough right now and Labor does not have a plan to deal with it.

The Select Committee on the Cost of Living, whose findings will be released on the November 30 this year, has focused on:

⦁    the cost of living pressures facing Australians
⦁    the Government’s fiscal policy response to the cost of living
⦁    ways to ease cost of living pressures through the tax and transfer system
⦁    measures to ease the cost of living through the provision of Government services

“This committee is doing what the Labor Government won’t do, which is to work with businesses, work with community groups and individuals to find responsible and constructive solutions to the crisis,”  says Senator Hume.

“How we can deal with the cost of living pressures in a way that is not just sensible, not just affective, but also is not inflationary in itself.”
