Mitsubishi Pajero Sport GLS SUV 1
Driving the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport SUV today, it’s been around in its current
guise since 2015 and is perhaps showing its age against fresher competition
however its undercuts most large 7-seat SUV’s in price. And it now must compete
with Mitsubishi’s impressive new Outlander SUV, which while listed as a medium
SUV, in many ways is the same size. I tested the mid-spec Pajero Sport 4WD at
$55,190 with 2.4-litre turbo diesel driving through an eight-speed automatic.
Features include cloth seats, dual-zone climate control with air vents to all three
rows, roof rails, 18-inch alloy wheels, a power tail gate and three 12V power
sockets, one for each seat row. A deluxe pack adds power leather seats and a
360-degree camera for parking and off-roading for another $2,250. The Pajero
Sport been updated with all the latest driving aids like autonomous emergency
braking, rear cross traffic alert, adaptive cruise control and auto-levelling LED
headlights but misses out on lane keep assist and driver attention alert. I can’t
help feeling the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport is now showing its age, tight in the front
cabin and rear seat and its 8-inch colour touch screen small and somewhat dated.
But how does it drive?
