ASIO boss told to ‘ease up’ on foreign interference operations as ‘more Australians targeted than ever before’
Mike Burgess, boss of the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation, has used his National Threat Assessment speech to call out senior people in Australia who “appear to believe that espionage and foreign interference is no big deal”.
As part of the assessment, Mr Burgess warned Australians that we are now facing the highest level of foreign interference and espionage in its history, liking the fight to ‘hand to hand combat’
