Today marked 122 years since the Australian Army and Navy was formed and we acknowledge its long and rich history.

Mat McLachlan is an Australian Military Historian and shared some extraordinary and insightful information about its history.

“It’s also the birthday of the Navy, our men and women out in the sea,” Mat added.

“The army, in particular, is a fascinating story because prior to federation each colony formed its own military force and made its own decisions about what wars it was going to participate in.”
