Former NRL coach and Channel Nine NRL expert Phil Gould has given his verdict on the Penrith Panthers’ chances ahead of the upcoming season.

Despite losing the World Club Challenge against St Helens during the pre-season, Gould believes the Panthers are still in for a successful run.

“People are now looking at that St Helens result, saying Penrith are vulnerable, but I don’t think they’re vulnerable at all,” he told Mark Levy on Wide World of Sports.

“When you look at the team they’ve got at the moment, their top nine or 10 players still haven’t reached the prime time of their career yet.”
