‘Won’t cost anything’: The SDA Union wants ANZAC day off
The Shop Distributive & Allied Employees Association (SDA) Branch Secretary, Bernie Smith, believes it’s not essential to go retail shopping on ANZAC day.
Mr Smith is asking the Federal Government to provide retail, fast-food and warehouse workers with the full day off, not just a half day ending at 1:00pm.
“It’s at the going down of the sun and in the morning, not just the morning that we seek to remember these people,” Mr Smith told Chris O’Keefe.
“We’re confident that there will be no economic impact.”
