Woodchoppers of all ages compete at the Easter Show
Competitive woodchopper, Jill Stratton, says if you’re aged between 5 and 88 years-old, there’s a competition for you to enter at the Easter Show.
“It’s not so much about strength, a lot of timing and technique goes into our sport,” Jill told Deborah Knight.
The axes hey use to chop the wood can cost between $600 to $800 and the crosscut saws, up to $4,000.
Jill and her son Jack, competed together in the Easter Show’s Jack and Jill woodchopping competition on Monday.
“Makes it easier for the commentators,” joked Deborah.
