HEATED interview: Ben clashes with Bill Shorten over NDIS

Minister for NDIS, Bill Shorten, has announced a supposed ‘reboot’ of the National Disability Insurance Scheme, which is currently costing taxpayers $34 billion a year.
There is widespread rorting of the system, with people using the NDIS to go on luxury holidays and providers charging ‘overs’ for small jobs.
Bill Shorten told Ben Fordham, “We can create the equivalent of an online shopping guide.”
“You don’t just take away a disabled persons car spot, and my point is, I want to change the culture where people with disabilities often find it hard to get information,” said Minister Shorten.
“I understand that, Minister, but it’s money provided to them by the taxpayer…You’ve got to change the rules,” said Ben.
